I have never been one to take a bunch of supplements and you’ll never find me waiting for a GNC to open first thing in the morning. Partly because I loath taking pills from the deepest depths of my core and secondly I was never much into fitness until recently. My before baby bod was always fairly lean without any effort and I had very few complaints. Could I have been more fit…? Sure. But I got away with a lot back then. My diet sucked, I never worked out, and at times I drank wayyy too much. I now realize I completely took my health for granted.
After having my son my body and metabolism changed, drastically. I gained weight and have been carrying it in new, unflattering, areas. (come on chub… you know you want to leave my tummy behind and migrate south to grow my white girl booty) Breastfeeding helped for a while, but once the supply dried up so did my metabolism. Boy, do I miss those extra 300 – 500 calories burned a day… Though even without the help from my motherly duty as a food truck I am determined to redefine my ‘Mom Bod’. I want my body to look and most importantly feel better than it did before I became a mother. So any extra help I can get, in a healthy way, I jump at. I have always been one for doing things naturally so here are the little boosts of strategically measured vitamins, herbs, and other natural whatnots that are aiding me in my weight loss journey.
Nature’s Bounty B-Complex with Folic Acid Plus Vitamin C
I was only taking B-12 & B-6 separately, until I found these bad boys. Like I said I am not a professional. These B-Complex tablets have a variety of the B vitamins that aid in the conversion of food to energy plus have added folic acid and vitamin C for metabolism, heart and nervous system support. I feel so much better since I started taking these. I am obsessed with these fruit blend detox yogi teas! I like to mix it up since the same old thing can get a bit dull so these yogi detox tea box sets are phenomenal! My favorite is the Berry DeTox but they are all effective in cleansing out impurities. (if you know what I mean) I don’t drink a detox tea daily but I do like to steep one 3 to 4 times a week.
Bragg USDA Gluten Free Organic Raw Apple Cider Vinegar
Now, I hate the taste of vinegar, but sometimes you just have to cowboy up and take it like a champ. I mix one tablespoon vinegar, one tablespoon cranberry juice, and two tablespoons water into a small glass and chase it with a lemon slice. Kinda, like my days back in college taking a tequila shot. Trust me I make the tequila face every single time I do these apple cider vinegar shots.
