Hey guys! What’s up? It’s Kate here from Sparkle and the City and today I will share with you some tips on how to incorporate some of your favorite spring and summer pieces into your winter wardrobe. Holidays are over, spring is a bit far away and I’m sure most of us are in an urgent need of a mood lifter. We can’t stand these depressing cloudy, cold and rainy days anymore, that’s why I thought it would be a good idea to unpack and wear some of our summer garments. If you are wondering how would that be possible, it’s with the wonders of layering. I think they will bring those much-needed summer vibes to any dark and moody winter outfit. If you can relate, keep reading for some useful tips!

How To Wear Your Summer Pieces In Winter

Turtleneck + Ruffle Dress

Take your favorite summer dress and add a turtleneck underneath. This way you add a unique and edgy twist to your look. Plus it adds a feminine touch to the black winter accessories. The funny thing is that some of the dresses that I didn’t have the chance to wear during summer, I wore this way during winter and I loved them even more!

Corset + Shirt

If you are feeling fearless and can pull together such a combination, I dare you to do it. It is so fashion forward that it’s guaranteed to turn heads. The certain thing is that it’s not for the faint-hearted!

Button Up + Turtleneck

Another fresh and stylish combo. You can tie a know to your favorite summer button down and add a turtleneck underneath. Despite its conservative nature, it makes a fashion statement that few will dare recreate.

Socks + Heeled Sandals

Is one of the reasons you can’t wait for the sun to come back your summer shoes? Well, no problem. You can wear your favorite heeled sandals during wintertime too! Just add some warm socks underneath! It’s practical and fashionable at the same time. The only question is: Do you have the guts to do it? Because you’ll turn heads for sure!

Button Down + Bralette

Are you sad that your favorite lace bralette is hidden under the heavy knits and coats and can’t wait summer to show it to the world? Well, the good news is that you can during winter too. Just wear it under a sheer or white button down. It’s up to you how many buttons you’ll leave unbuttoned. I recommend not to many because flu is around the corner. 😛

Turtleneck+ Camisole

If you can’t get enough of your camisoles (I personally can’t) just wear them over a warm turtleneck. You can tuck them in your pants for a more stylish result or wear them loose for a casual look. Also, you can reverse them. You can add a long flowy camisole under a sweater for a more relaxed look.

Button Down + Jumpsuit

You are so sad that you didn’t have the chance to wear your sexy black jumpsuit during summer and don’t have the patience to wait for months to do so. Well, the great news is that you can wear it all year round, just by adding a turtleneck, a top or a button down underneath, depending on the cold and the style you are going for.
