Daredevil Season 3 has been getting great reviews and, once again, the performance of Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk/Kingpin has been lauded by the critics. In an interview with Collider, Vincent D’Onofrio had the opportunity to talk about this Netflix Marvel TV show.
Daredevil Season 3
Vincent D’Onofrio had this to say on what he enjoyed the most about returning to play Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in Daredevil Season 3:
“I think that the idea of the manipulation part of it with Jay Ali, who plays Agent Nadeem, colliding with the Poindexter stuff, and then eventually when Vanessa comes back into the picture, are my favorite bits. That’s what sticks out, besides the whole Daredevil and Kingpin thing, and what Charlie [Cox] and I have going.”
“He’s just super great to work with and super talented, and he’s very into doing things right, on the day, when we’re shooting. He’s very meticulous and he’s a very good partner to have on set, just because his dedication is so immense and wonderful.”
Vincent D’Onofrio also gave some comments on what he believes motivates Wilson Fisk/Kingpin in his journey:
“Love is a part of his journey. He needs Vanessa to help him find himself. It’s not very healthy, but it’s the way he feels. I think that he really believes that she makes him complete, and he believes strongly in that. In order to move forward, in his mind, he believes that he has to have her with him.”
“The cool thing about Season 3 is that Vanessa ends up much more rock solid as a person than she was in the first season, and that enriches the Fisk story. To answer your question more specifically, there is a bigger goal, and that’s up to the writers.”
