Recently, Stephen Amell, star of CW superhero television show Arrow, gave an interview to coincide with the release of Season 7. Now, Beth Schwartz, the new showrunner for Arrow, gave an interview to the press in a Q&A after a screening of the first episode of Season 7. She discussed many aspects about this seventh season of Arrow.
Arrow Season 7
For instance, one of the things Beth Schwartz spoke about was whether there was anything she wanted to bring to Season 7 as the new showrunner for Arrow:
“For me, because I’ve been on the show for so long, I just wanted to bring all my favorite aspects of the show and put together all of the things with all of the characters. I’ve been with them so long, and the things that I wanted to see them do, they haven’t done yet.”
Beth Schwartz also discussed the fight sequences in this season of Arrow and whether the visceral nature of these scenes was something she asked the stunt teams to do:
“Yeah, I did. (Stunt coordinator) James Bamford and I have had many conversations about what we wanted the fight sequences to look like this year. We wanted to get back to the feel of Season 1 and be a little grittier with some more exciting stunts. We talked a lot about that shower scene.”
“That was a very in-depth conversation of, ‘Are they going to let us do that?’ Because Oliver is in prison, we didn’t want to sugarcoat anything and we just really wanted to show how hard it is for him to be in there. We’ll continue that. We definitely have a lot of really cool stuff coming up, for sure.”
