We all want to know how to make egg nog! Well, at least I know I do. One of the reasons I wanted to know is because it’s kind of expensive for a 1L of egg nog at the grocery store and I want all the egg nog I can get for a low price, I’m obsessed with egg nog.. and this way, if you ever have a craving in the middle of July then you’ll have your fix!

So first things first, you need to gather all your supplies! You’ll need:

  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • And any alcohol you prefer (I personally would choose baileys)

God knows we can’t live without alcohol ESPECIALLY around the holidays.

Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites and set the egg whites aside, whisk the egg yolks while adding the milk in slowly and gradually adding in the heavy cream and the sugar. Whisk it together using either a hand mixer or a stand mixer and once mix until it looks frothy and everything is incorporated nicely.

Next, whisk the egg whites until they have a fluffy look to them, and pour it on top of the egg mixture. This makes 6 cups in total, and waaay cheaper for these ingredients than the store bought 1L. It always tastes better when you put in your own effort!

And there you have it! You can top it off with ground cinnamon, cinnamon sticks or nutmeg of your choice. Enjoy! Originally published on Color Pop Treats.
