Sunday's Aquarian. This blog is a jumble, a sunday's mish-mash, a box of surprises and a place I come to when I want to talk about cute, quirky places I have found, amazing food I have eaten, great books that I have read or, simply, places that I have recently travelled to. sundaysaquarian has no theme or guidelines but like life, my blog is constantly changing, unpredictable and doesn't stay the same. I hope you enjoy reading and please contact me via e-mail: [email protected] or instagram: charlotteaimee I study English at university in London and I will be studying my masters in Journalism in Edinburgh when this is completed. Edinburgh is a second home to me as it's where my boyfriend, Cameron lives and owns a restaurant 'Forage and Chatter', and so I spend a lot of time there. I love to write, travel, work out and take photos and I hope to become a magazine editor once my university work is done! If you would like me to advertise your products, cafe, clothing line, blog, activity group, book or anything at all then I am more than happy to do so, if I feel it is right! From hiding in the shade after a long day reclining under the sun to an afternoon break after perusing shop’s and sightseeing whilst on a city break… we all need juice – that refreshing, uplifting milestone in our day, where we get the opportunity to take a seat, take a deep breath and go “mmmm”…

So, I’m going to take you around the world in juice bars to get your tongue’s tingling.

Juice Tonic, Soho, London

Beginning out journey on familiar territory, we find Juice Tonic, a juice bar renowned for cold pressed organic juices. Fact of the day: cold pressed means that the enzymes are preserved which leaves you with intact nutrients. Didn’t think all this juice stuff was so complex eh? Well, here at Juice Tonic they pride themselves on this very method, allowing for the creation of refreshing smoothies and juices. The organic aspect provides for maximum flavour and herbal teas are on offer too. So, start this “new year, new me” thing right this year and pop into Juice Tonic to kick your taste buds into action.

Lanikai Juice, Hawaii

Pack your suitcase because we’re off to Hawaii baby! Hawaii itself just screams vibrant colours and this is represented at Lanikai Juice with their many fruit-filled juices. Located on the south-eastern coast of Oahu, they even have a “signature smoothie” called Kailua Monkey. This smoothie consists of all things yummy; soy milk, banana, peanut butter, honey and whey protein.

The Juicey Café, Washington

If a name has ever said it all… it’s this one! Drinks aside, the other funky aspect of the Juicey Café is the name of it’s drinks; The ‘Skinny Minnie’ consists of grapefruit, cucumber and apple caynne – no wonder it’s called the Skinny Minnie! The Ab’s Green Religion consists of your daily greens, lemon and ginger. The names themselves scream health and fitness. You can also opt for a three or seven day cleanse for a fee, what an inventive incentive!

Alchemy-Ubud, Bali

Get the perfect insta picture here, with #nofilter needed! This Bali bar has a creative menu boasting huge amounts of flavour. Triumphing all things organic, Alchemy-Ubud washes all produce in filtered water and uses straws made out of papaya instead of plastic. The comical website of this juice bar warns “live subjects all over the world have reported sudden cravings for salad and cucumbers” and “a sudden increase in compliments from others”!

 Daluma, Berlin

Moving quickly to Berlin now, I must apologise for the logistics of my tour but this one is worthy of a stop-off. Daluma is a health-food café that triumphs a selective range of cold pressed juices. One of the green smoothies named ‘Run, Forest’, after the well-known film, caught my attention straight away. I loved the pun and, unsurprisingly, it is their best seller, combining greens, fruit and mint to make it healthy but sweet. They also do an immune shot for those who are feeling a bit under the weather (but healthy enough to venture to their favourite café). The shot comprises of ginger, lemon, cayenne and oregano-oil! Yum…

Bob’s Cold Press, Paris

Take one of Bob’s non-pasteurised, cold pressed, 100% organic juices around streets of Paris with you and you really will be the talk of the town…or, well, city in this case! The packaing is simple yet so effective as the colours scream “try me”! Cleanse your way into that summer body with flavours ranging from spicy carrot to pineapple and ginger.

CRU Juice, Calgary, Canada

“Cru” means raw in French, so again with this juice bar, it’s all in the name! Be sure to check out their Instagram pics of their juices as they are aesthetically pleasing and demonstrate all of the ingredients in each juice. Their motto is Real and Raw, priding themselves on exactly that when it comes to ingredients. Juices include ‘Dirty Lemonade’, ‘Menage a trois’ and the comically named ’50 shades of green’!

Afterglow, Sinapore

Afterglow is bound to do just what it says with an array of bases to choose from, including pineapple, spinach and beetroot. Using Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) chips in fruit capsules, information and print-outs of nutritional values and calorie count will be provided to show you just how much nutrients you’re drinking in – now that’s a juice bar I’d like to visit! Afterglow uses over 39 different types of fruit and veg, with the ability to create up to 5,000 recipes of juice!
