Oktoberfest, Germany’s biggest beer festival arrives in London this weekend with a series of events and parties. Since 2011, London Oktoberfest has transforming Millwall Park into a traditional Volksfest with a great atmosphere and live music.
What is it Oktoberfest?
The celebration is a 16-18 day beer festival that’s held annually in Munich. Credited with being the largest Volksfest (beer festival) in the world, the event is attended by upwards of 6 million people a year.

Expect to find special brewed Bavarian beers and signature German food such as Bratwurst, Pretzel and Schnitzel. The company behind the event says, “Oktoberfest is much more than beer! Oktoberfest is about getting together with colleagues, clients and friends and enjoying the unbelievable Oktoberfest atmosphere.” Expect live music straight from Bavaria and songs from Oompa to German Schlager.
Where is it happening?
If you want to come down and be served by waiters and waitresses in Dirndl and Lederhosen, make your way down to Millwall Park in Canary Wharf (Manchester Road, London, E14 3AY). The event will be running from the 29th of September to the 9th of October. Don’t forget, you will need to have pre-bought tickets. Tickets can be purchased here.
