When we look at December in the calendar, we immediately start thinking about Christmas holidays and New Year’s Eve. This festive season is all about family and friends gathering around the cozy fireplace, chatting, drinking eggnog, eating delicious foods and just indulging. However, the New Year’s Eve is a rather special and sparkly night. Even if everything goes around that magnificent 10-second countdown, we still want to make a great party to remember for years to come. If you are still wondering how to organize a majestic New Year’s party, think no more and read on.
Gather all your buddies
If you are going to organize a party at home (which would be a cheaper alternative) then you have two options. First one would be more intimate with only close friends and family members. And the other one, where you would invite all your acquaintances, colleagues and buddies. Even if everybody doesn’t show up, you would certainly fill up the room with the people you like to spend your time with. There is nothing better than entering into a new year with people you love and cherish. Only make sure that you have enough space and chairs, and enough accommodation if you are inviting some friends from abroad.
No party is complete without juicy and savoury food. The same rule applies for organizing the New Year’s party, you should plan in advance what food you would like to serve. It depends on how many people you are going to invite in the end, but a traditional cold and warm buffet is perfect for this occasion. Prepare or order in advance foods such as mini Scotch eggs, mac ’n’ cheese sliders, antipasti skewers, and so on. Your guest (and you) will be able to dance all night, chat around and not worry about forks and knives. Get paper plates and New Year’s themed napkins and enjoy.
Party games and fun
There ain’t no party like the New Year’s party! Once you have figured out the food and bought loads of alcoholic beverages, the time has come to organize festive games. It can be tedious only chatting about how things are going, so you have to spice it up with some games. Karaoke is always a fun option, however, top it up with lip-sync contest which would be goofy and amusing. Pictionary and charades are great as well, especially if you have done a few tequila shots previously. You can even dress up, take cool and colourful hats and prompts, and then commemorate the evening by taking quality pictures in Photoboothme studio. It would be flabbergasting to make funny faces and have fun by taking pictures altogether and saluting the old year and welcoming the new.
Pump the mood up
Once you have all the fun party props ready, the time has come to create an amazing music playlist. Hiring a local DJ is one of the option to make a blasting atmosphere, but if that is just not your thing, you can do everything on your own. Put together an eclectic mix of tunes for all kids off occasions (just not the slow ones). If your friends are the same age, then you won’t have to worry about the music selection, since everybody would have similar taste. What is more, decorate the venue with a lot of balloons, festive ornaments, confetti, and similar. Although it would likely be cold outside, grab your warm jacket and do the tradition New Year’s Eve countdown in your backyard. Set up a bonfire, light up a few sprinkles and fireworks, and drink hot mulled wine.
Let there be drinks
No matter if you are serving or you hire a bartender, having proper drinks at a New Year’s party is a must. Whether you are serving alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages, you can in both cases set up a drink bar. A chic cocktail bar can be fabulous, as well as your own personalized bar, where you will have fun sayings and your own personal recipes. You can spice up the party by naming your new signature drinks and make a New Year’s resolution to try to sell them.
The main point is to have fun, fun, fun! When you are around the people you love a great party is inevitable, and all the little details are trivial.
