- How To Eat And Travel – Guilt Free! - December 15, 2017
I am a foodie. I repeat, I am a foodie. This unfortunately makes me think of food when I wake up, when I have down time, heck I even dream of food. So it’s only fitting that when I travel, a portion of it revolves around food. This can be damaging to the waistline and let’s be honest – after all that sweat in the gym pre holiday do I really want to just throw my bod out the window? No.
So, what can we do to make sure we maximise the taste of our holiday whilst minimising the impact it has on our booty’s? Let me share my 3 travel eating hacks that have seen me not come home with more rolls than the bread I was eating on holidays 🤣. Everybody loves to Eat and Travel – Guilt Free!
Share a Meal
This is easy when there is two of you. Steve and 1 always share a meal when we travel. This was to serve 1 person in Austin! TACOS so damn good ! Why share? Firstly, you save money and secondly you save yourself from over eating just because! If you don’t think one meal will be enough between 2. Share an entree and a main. Then talk about how you can’t belive one person could eat all this food. You will feel slimmer almost immediately (😂).
Level out your day
If you are having a heavy breakfast opt for some light snacks for lunch (always good for when you are on the go). Eat fresh, always. Try to avoid pre-made food so there aren’t any hidden extras. Know what you’re eating and you can take more control. Also – if your craving a beer… Reduce the food intake with the same meal ! Beer is filling and eating is cheating anyways.
Choose your drink wisely
We should all be well aware by now that drinks are calories too! Ditch the sugary cocktails and mountains of beer (easier said than done, I know). Opt for a fresh Gin and Soda Water with fresh mint, lime and lemon. If your dying for a beer or cocktail just limit them and level out your drinks with your diet. If your going to splurge on the booze – eat light and fresh salads with minimal caloric intake.
If you keep these 3 tips handy – you will notice a difference in your post travel bod! I will be working on some Travel workout guides over the next couple of months and can’t wait to share them with you! Sign up to me newsletter below to make sure you are the first to get them.
