Eating healthy and losing weight doesn’t have to be bland or miserable. Everything in moderation they say. Throughout my postpartum weight loss journey I have been experimenting with new, easy, and healthy recipes. One of my favorites being this crock pot chicken teriyaki! Not going to lie, it is currently cooking in my crock pot right now as I am writing this post! I honestly can’t imagine anything getting easier than 5 ingredients and a crock pot! With rich flavor and low calories this is a perfectly easy meal for any weeknight or momma on the go! With the extra work load I have taken on recently and hitting the gym more, I don’t have the time to slave away in the kitchen for hours. Let’s be honest what mom does? Easy crockpot meals are a lifesaver in mine and Milo’s home.
Tip: To meal prep this recipe double ingredients and store in Freshware Meal Prep Containers. I love these 3 compartment containers and they are dishwasher, freezer, and microwave safe.
Healthy weight loss crock pot chicken teriyaki recipe
1 pound diced chicken
1/2 cup teriyaki sauce
1 cup chicken broth (I just tossed in 1 broth cube)
1/3 cup brown sugar
3 dashes of garlic powder
Combine diced chicken, broth, teriyaki sauce, brown sugar and garlic in large bowl. Mix well.
Pour chicken mixture into crock-pot.
Cook on low 4-6 hours, or until chicken is cooked through.
Serve over hot cooked rice and broccoli.
Spoon extra sauce if desired
