Boneca, the people behind monthly events showcasing electronic music across London, are throwing a Halloween Party. Temple of Shadows at Holy Trinity Church is promising to be a ‘fully immersive & interactive experience’ across the 3 levels that make up Holy Trinity Church.
What is it?
In their own words, ‘Follow the incantation, perform the rites, and throw open the gates for now is time to dance like it’s the end of days. Strange creatures from a Darker Age lie in wait to debauch and feast, as myth becomes reality and legend will be rewritten. Step into a strange realm, where curious beasts have been summoned to frolic and make-merry, where denizens of the night and mere mortals come together to dance and sway in the light of the pale moon. Set inside the beautiful surroundings of the Holy Trinity Church, Marylebone, this is a night of high-end immersive theatrics and musical storytelling.’
Set across the three floors that comprise the Holy Trinity Church, the Temple of Shadows is set to be a spectacle. Within the Grand Hall cast your eyes on the Fallen Angel. ‘a creature of ancient beauty, look upon the eternal sinner, cast down into the world, suspended spider-like between this world and another…’
Venture up into The Lost Galleries. ‘The Tarot Readers will foretell prophecies, uncover secrets and expand minds – sit with the soothsayers as they open their third eyes to divine your future and connect your past.Stray, intoxicated by magicks, and observe the Witches’ Dark Rites as the accused are held to trial and the stake readied for the verdict. The spirit bells ring, there are dark souls among us… Don’t lose your head and keep the circle unbroken – The Spirits are being summoned in the far corner of the The Lost Gallery as the seance gets underway.’
Finally, if you feel up to it, head down into The Labyrinth of Torment. ‘Dumbfound your senses and step down daringly into the dark catacombs, into a labyrinth worthy of the great Theseus himself. Find your way through, solve the riddles and face your fears, but tread with care – will you turn left or right? The courage of the finest Knight is needed for all those who enter – keep your eyes sharp and your wits even sharper as the treacherous maze is not for the feint of heart, as strange beasts lurk may around every corner.’
