2018 is going to be a big year for films. We have already had the latest instalment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) be released in the form of Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War is set to come out in just a few months. Solo: A Star Wars Story will be out in May and we still have Deadpool 2, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Mission: Impossible – Fallout as well as Ant-Man and the Wasp to be released this year. That is already a stellar year when it comes to big franchise films and I have not even spoken about the next film being directed by Steven Spielberg and a Pixar sequel we have been waiting for since 2004.
Ready Player One and Incredibles 2
I am of course talking about Ready Player One and Incredibles 2 respectively. Ready Player One is coming out in March while Incredibles 2 is set for a release in June and both films are highly anticipated. In terms of Ready Player One, the film has a cemented fan base due to the fact that the film is based on a popular book. As you can imagine, expectations are high with those fans of the original source material.
Incredibles 2 also has that same luxury of an established fan base thanks to the success of The Incredibles. Indeed, it is more likely that cinemas will be filled with adults, who have been waiting for this sequel since they were children, than actual children once Incredibles 2 is released. Both films have released new trailers which you can see below:
I thought both trailers were good but Ready Player One was my favourite trailer out of the two. The visuals were great, the cover of ‘Pure Imagination’ was brilliant and it does what all trailers should do; make me more excited than I was before to see the film. The trailer for Incredibles 2 did not do that as much because we saw less footage and I am already as excited as I can be for Incredibles 2.
