Why LeBron Is Right About The NBA Playoffs

“I would disagree with that. I think our league has been built the right way as far as when it comes to the postseason.” “It’s cool to mess around with the All-Star Game, we proved you can do that, but let’s not get too crazy about the playoffs.”

The above quote by LeBron James is what most of us saw when we got the notification from whatever sports app we use. My guess is that several people saw that one quote by LeBron and thought something along the lines of LeBron wanting to keep the playoffs the same because right now nobody in the Eastern Conference can beat him. I envisioned that quote to give LeBron haters another reason to hate on LeBron.

Bad Decisions – Timeline Of 13 Terrible In-Season NBA Trades

In 1988, the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Kevin Johnson, Tyrone Corbin, Mark West, a 1988 1st Round Draft pick (Dan Majerle), a 1988 2nd Round Draft pick (Dean Garrett), and a 1989 2nd Round Draft pick (Greg Grant) to the Phoenix Suns for Larry Nance, Mike Sanders, and a 1988 1st Round Draft pick (Randolph Keys). The Cavaliers set the Suns up with key pieces (Johnson, Majerle) to eventually pair with Charles Barkley. While the Cavs, well, stayed the Cavs and continued to disappoint the city of Cleveland.

At 33 years old, LeBron James has somehow transformed himself into an upgraded version of himself. As most athletes start to wear down when they pass the age of 30, LeBron is now putting up the best shooting numbers of his career. When looking at these numbers, you must have to think of all time greats. Enter the greatest NBA player to ever grace this earth. The holy, the mythical, your “Airness”, The Micheal Jordan.

50 Of The Best Shooting Guards In The History OF The NBA

Who is the best shooting guard in NBA history? With the upcoming NBA All-Star Game airing next week, some people may be asking themselves the very same question. What is a shooting guard? The main objective of the shooting guard (SG) is to put points up on the scoreboard. In addition to scoring points, some NBA teams ask their shooting guard to bring up the ball (dribble the ball) as well. Sometimes, these shooting guards are known as combo guards. Most shooting guards are good long-range shooters. They tend to average 35–40 percent from the three-point range.

The Best Thing For The Lakers Is To Get Rid Of Lonzo Ball

Lonzo Ball is like the cute girl that keeps flirting with you. You know she is trouble, she carries baggage. You think, “I can look past all that stuff. It’s not that big of a deal”. So you start dating her, all of a sudden her dad starts getting too involved with both of your lives. You tell him he needs to back off and let the both of you live your own lives. He then starts tarnishing your reputation. He starts talking to his daughter’s friends, telling them that you aren’t good and that no one respects you. You start thinking this is getting out of hand. Is it even worth it, how much do you like this girl? It’s still early in the relationship, you can break it off now before it gets too serious. The Lakers and Luke Walton need to break up with Lonzo Ball, it is not worth it. Do you think it is going to get better dealing with the obnoxious father LaVar Ball?

Should NFL Teams Be Worried About Sam Darnold’s Turnover Plagued Season?

Quick answer: no.

Social media has declared Sam Darnold a bust before he has even declared for the NFL draft. The Ohio State Buckeyes boast arguably the most NFL ready defense in the country. Greg Schiano has assembled one of the great defensive lines in college football with Jalyn Holmes, Tyquan Lewis, along with the sophomore Nick Bosa. If you didn’t expect Darnold to struggle in this game, you haven’t been paying attention to this Ohio State team as of late.

NFL Combine 2018: Pre-Combine NFL Mock Draft

The NFL scouting combine starts tomorrow. Like every year, the combine will be full of players who over and under perform. Maybe they’ll even perform exactly how they’re expected to. It’s almost a guarantee we’ll see a few players rise or fall because of their testing numbers. Right now what we have to go off of is team need and what we’ve seen on tape for each player. Things will change after the combine. Teams will become interested in players based on how they perform. Some players will boost themselves into the first round, while others may fall out of it.

NFL Draft 2018 – The Top 5 Running Backs To Watch

Who are the top running backs in the 2018 NFL draft? Over the last few years, the running back classes have made a significant impact in the NFL. Young running backs like Todd Gurley, Ezekiel Elliott, Kareem Hunt, and Alvin Kamara have been some of the best players at the position. Drafting running backs high may have been dead a few years back, but now it’s as alive as it’s ever been. This years running back class has the making of another very impactful group. It’s becoming a trend to see rookie running backs leading the NFL in rushing. I’ve ranked my top 5 running backs in the NFL Draft, and depending on where these guys are drafted, I’d say there’s a pretty good chance for one of them to lead the NFL in rushing next season.

NFL Legends – Player Profile: Warren Moon

The 1978 NFL Draft was a disappointment for Warren Moon and he wasn’t granted his opportunity to be the “No. 1 guy”.

Despite a successful career and stand out season prior to the draft, winning the 1978 Rose Bowl over the favoured Michigan Wolverines whilst becoming the game’s MVP; Warren Moon was considered by NFL scouts to be a mid-round pick (Moon ranked as the 10th best quarterback in the 1978 draft).

Best Free Agent Fits: Allen Robinson

Players coming off major injuries scare me. If they scare me, they should scare NFL teams too. An athlete can be a completely different player after suffering a major injury, but sometimes they return to form. Just look at what Adrian Peterson did after his major injury years back. Peterson is a freak athlete, which is not the case for everyone. Some players just can’t get back to form. Allen Robinson is one player who we’re not quite sure about at this point.

Best Free Agent Fits: Malcolm Butler

Coming off a Super Bowl benching, Malcolm Butler has the NFL questioning why that may have been. Butler wasn’t as good this past year as he has been in years before, but he wasn’t bad. There are a lot worse corners out there. I think Butler was seen as much better than he actually is because he played for the Patriots and he made that incredible interception in the Super Bowl a few years back.

Why Kaepernick To The Raiders Makes Sense

“Just win baby!”, the moniker made famous by Al Davis, the previous owner of the Oakland Raiders. A fierce opponent of racial injustice and discrimination, Davis was the forward-thinking owner the NFL needed.

Davis refused to play in cities or towns that had racial segregation during the 60s’. He hired the first black head coach Art Shell in 1989. Skin color did not matter to him, Al Davis just wanted to win.

15 Of The Best American Football Offenses To Play In The NFL

Which teams had the best American football offenses to play in the NFL? As the adage goes, defense wins championships, offence wins games. This saying can be completely disregarded if you are able to put together an offensive team as good as the ones in this list. Agree with the list? Think someone an offense was left off? Why Jon Gruden Is The Most Overrated Coach Of All Time

The hyperbolical news of the Oakland Raiders hiring the “great” Jon Gruden to become the next head coach is official. The apparent home-run hire for the Raiders should catapult the team to the Superbowl, right? The seemingly mythical coach, would year-by-year seep into the coaching vacancy conversation every year, even in college (Search University of Tennesse). The last time the Oakland Raiders were in a Superbowl, they were getting dusted by the Tampa Bay Buccanneers. That team was coached by who? Oh, you know the ‘great’ Jon Gruden. What if I told you, Jon Gruden is an average to below average coach? Well, he is, and the numbers prove it.

Why Baker Mayfield Is The Best Quarterback In The NFL Draft

With the College Football and NFL seasons now over, a good portion of everyone’s attention is turned to the NFL Draft. Everyone wants to know who their team is going to pick to hopefully make their team better. Like pretty much every other year, a big focus in the draft are quarterbacks. Several teams are looking for their next franchise quarterback, but there’s usually only a few at best that work out.

Best Free Agent Fits: Jarvis Landry

The Free Agent Fits series continues as we continue to get closer to free agency. Today’s free agent is Jarvis Landry, a wide receiver who will be well sought after. In his first 4 seasons in the league, Landry has had 84 or more catches every season. Two of those seasons he had over 1,000 receiving yards. This past season, Landry was just short of 1,000 yards receiving, but can you really blame him for having a little lower numbers? His quarterback situation was not ideal in any way. Even though he was short of 1,000 yards, he did record 112 catches, which is a career high for him.

One Change The Cleveland Browns Should Make To Start Their Turn Around

Now that the Super Bowl is over, it’s time to turn our attention to how teams will look to improve next season. The Cleveland Browns are the team with the first overall pick in the draft, so I thought we’d start with them. What happens when you go 0-16 in a season? You get the first overall pick in the draft, everyone thinks you suck and rightfully so, and you also get made fun of at the NFL Honors Show.

The LA Rams Blew It And May Never Have Another Opportunity Like This Again

“We are excited about our future”. Who said it? Was it Sean McVay or was it Chip Kelly, or Jason Garrett. The LA Rams are strangely reminiscent of the 2013 Philadelphia Eagles; young offensive mastermind, young quarterback thriving in a certain offensive scheme, and immediate success. I am not saying the same will happen, but next season should be met with “buyer beware”. Every NFL season is different, just ask Jason Garrett and the 2016 Dallas Cowboys.

Best Free Agents Fits: Kirk Cousins

NFL Free Agency officially starts next month, which means it’s time for some predictions on where the top free agents will sign. From now up until Free Agency, I’ll be doing a Free Agent Fits series, giving some insight into where the top free agents may end up. I thought it’d be appropriate to start off this series with Kirk Cousins, considering we officially know he’s going to be a free agent because of what happened with the Chiefs and Alex Smith. I’ll usually stick to about 5 potential teams for each player, but with Cousins I had to include a couple more because quarterback is a need for several teams this offseason. Below are some potential fits for Kirk Cousins. Keep an eye on these teams to go after him when Free Agency begins.

XFL

XFL – It Is All About The Venue

On January 25, 2018 Vince McMahon announced that he was getting back into the professional football business. While he is using the initials of the old league of the same name he was involved with, this one is clearly a new league and the ownership situation is also vastly different. The announcement immediately set off a major public outcry ranging from jesting to celebration. There is no doubt that the XFL can succeed and make money in the modern world, the broadcast rights and merchandising alone have changed the way pro-sports can make money from the old way (which is still used by the NFL). Of the celebrating faction of the public, there was an immediate outpouring of love with everyone trying to prove why their city should get a team.

Hear Me Out: XFL Should Start A Franchise In Austin

Interesting news came out during a slow sports news week…..XFL is back! Regarded as a ridiculous league, XFL was known for some of the wrestling like antics that took place on the football field. You had the nicknames on the back of the jerseys, the no “halo rule” on punts (resulting in devastating hits), instead of a coin flip before the game, the ref would toss a football and two players would fight for the ball. I won’t lie, when the league was around I watched it, it was intriguing. I was disappointed when the league folded in its first year. Owner Vince McMahon has decided he wanted to try it over again This time removing the gimmicks, making the game faster, and concentrating on just football.

Updating the Pittsburgh Panthers All-Time Football Team

Back in 2011, after trying unsuccessfully to find a recent article regarding an All-Time Pitt Panthers football team, I wrote the following article that can be found at: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/789636-announcing-the-pittsburgh-panthers-all-time-football-team. The past six years has allowed us sufficient time to revisit the subject and to see what players may have earned their way on to Pitt’s all-time team.

Pitt’s all-time team would rank among the best that have ever played college football. Presenting the updated University of Pittsburgh’s All-Time team…

Penn State Football: Updating the Nittany Lions All-Time Team

Back in 2011, after having researched extensively only to find a dearth of articles regarding an All-Time Penn State Nittany Lions football team, I wrote the following article that can be found at:  http://bleacherreport.com/articles/789688-announcing-the-penn-state-nittany-lions-all-time-football-team

While writing the article, I thought that it would take an extraordinarily talented player to break into Penn State’s all-time lineup. That certainly proved to be the case. Here is the updated pre-2018 edition of Penn State’s all-time football team.
