Consider yourself a sleuth when it comes to London’s bar scene? Is everything out there starting to feel the same to you? Evans & Peel Detective Agency is a fantastic speakeasy bar and restaurant that masquerades as a Detective Agency. Based in London’s Earls Court, Evans & Peel serve up a collection of classic cocktails garnished with their own signature twist. Their website is particularly useful as it has a host of their themed cocktail recipes for you to make within your own home. A charming theme, great mood and well thought out menu leave you with a great experience.
What makes it special?
London has no shortage of cool and quirky bars like Evans & Peel; take for instance the likes of Happiness Forgets, The Mayor of Scaredy Cat Town, Nightjar or Ruby’s. Where Evans & Peels shines is its commitment to the theme, roleplay and atmosphere. It all starts with a reservation. To make your reservation, you either need to call and speak to ‘the detective’ or go online and submit an appointment to talk about ‘a case’. Step 2 is finding the front door. A black, nondescript door lit only by a single light above allows you to enter into the detective’s office. Here you state your case and if satisfied, you are allowed entry into the bar. I don’t want to go into too much detail regarding my time with the detective as I wouldn’t want to ruin the experience or surprise for anyone reading this.
Evans & Peel Detective Agency is great bar for a date. It’s dark, candle lit environment is perfect for some one on one time. Don’t let this put you off hosting groups there as they seemed more than willing to cater for groups of 6 or larger. The bar serves up a host of classic drinks as well as seasonal cocktails that include ingredients such as maple bacon. eggs, tobacco-infused bourbon as well as a host of other infusions.

As mentioned above, head over to their website to make an appointment with the detective. It is worth nothing that Evans & Peel Detective Agency has no standing policy so you will be served food and/or drinks at a table. You can also keep up to date with them on their Facebook and Twitter.
