It can be hard to figure out ways to attract potential travelers to your hotel or resort. Whether you’re having some trouble keeping a steady clientele, or just looking for new ways to give your hotel a boost in visitors, it can be hard to figure out what you can do differently. Luckily, there are a lot of ways to accomplish this without a lot of effort.
Have an Online Presence
One of the easiest ways to attract potential visitors is to have a steady online presence. Not only will this give your guests a way to look into you and see if they’re interested in staying, but it gives you a place to show why your hotel is the best in the area. You can add pictures of some of the rooms you have available, of some events and local culture in your area, maybe even some stories or comments from people who have stayed with you in the past. It’s all a matter of what you want to promote as a part of your brand.
In addition, having an online presence makes it easier for new visitors to find your hotel and make a reservation. Since online hotel booking websites have started becoming popular, it’s all the more important that your hotel be online to attract potential customers that may not have heard of you previously. Just make sure that you keep your website up to date if you renovate or change something. That way, visitors will always be aware of recent changes at your establishment.
Use Your Surroundings
Many hotels and resorts gain a lot of extra attention for utilizing the uniqueness of their surroundings. If you have frequent events in the area or you’re close to a nature walk or tourist attraction, then use that to your advantage. You can usually partner with these events to provide transportation to their sites or discounted rates if they stay at your accommodation. That’s the kind of agreement that can help out both partners and help you establish a name for yourself.
There are other ways to use your surroundings more effectively as well. For example, if you’re located somewhere with a certain climate, then you can market that. If your area is known for hot and humid weather, then adding a pool to your accommodation is a must. That’s why pool construction Las Vegas is such a large industry. On the other hand, if you have a lot of colder or harsher weather, then having something like a fireplace in the lobby or thermal blankets in the rooms will make a great impression on guests. Small additions like this will show that you’ve gone above and beyond to make sure your guests have a special and memorable time during their stay.
Get Some Live Entertainment
Another idea to attract tourists would be getting live entertainment to perform once a week or over a weekend. This doesn’t have to be some A-list entertainer or a three hour Broadway show. Most people would be just as content with local musicians, comedians, or magicians looking for a place to perform. Hotel bars with live entertainment are popular because of their atmosphere. You don’t need a professional to make a nice atmosphere, you just need someone who’s passionate about what they’re bringing to the table and reflects well on the hotel at the end of the night.
This can be extended to bringing local events to you if you have the means for it. This could include talent competitions, celebrity look a-likes, small performances by a circus that is traveling through the area, etc. This also gives exposure to both parties, so the entertainers will benefit from this kind of deal too. It’s about capitalizing on what is available to you and using that to make yourself and your place of business stand out. If it’s a different experience than just staying at any other hotel nearby, then you’ve got a great pull for potential tourists.
