I am a 25 year old film student from Norway. Incredibly interested in culture and spends most of my days watching television or movies.

The Merc with a Mouth is back, after the massive success of the first movie everyone was wondering if they could succeed in making the sequel just as great, the answer, is yes.

I have always been a massive comic book collector, and Deadpool and The X-Men has always been a personal favorite of mine. The dark and wicked humour and the ultra violence makes it an instant superhero classic.

We begin two years after the first film. Wade Wilson has now become a mercenary that works worldwide under the manta of Deadpool, when the time traveller Cable arrives from the future to kill a kid, Deadpool has to form the team X-Force to try to save the kid.

Ryan Reynolds still loves portraying Deadpool, and with the fourth wall breaking, snarky comments and bad jokes he still manages to own every scene in the movie. His undeniable charm and chemistry with the other actors helps out a lot. In supporting roles we have Josh Brolin as Thanos and Morena Baccarin as Vanessa and the chemistry on the sets are amazing. Brianna Hildebrands Negasonic Teenage Warhead is still one of the best portrayals in the X-Men universe. Brolins portrayal of Cable may be overshadowed by his portrayal of Thanos in Avengers Infinity War, but Cable is amazing in this film, and the way Brolin and Reynolds bounce off each other makes for plenty of good cinematic moments.

Directed by David Leitch, who is known to be a master of action films, and he does a great job on directing this movie filled with dark violence and plenty of well choreographed action sequences. He has previously done masterpieces as Atomic Blonde and John Wick and the result on Deadpool 2 is another great addition to his resume.

The cinematography by Jonathan Sela is astonishing, and seeing how the man has a lot of talent with violent stupid action, it is bound to be good. Deadpool 2 has among the best action sequences in many years, and that is thanks to Sela knowing how to frame good action sequences. He is a master with the camera.

DEADPOOL 2

Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese returns as the script writers, and they manage to deliver a script that still focuses on Deadpool, but also puts up an entire potential for an X-Force movie series. They are fair to the characters and manage to deliver a narrative that is not confusing or lacking in any way like some X-Men movies have been.

Deadpool 2 manages to take everything that made the original movie great, and make it better, it is still satirical dumb guilty pleasure violence filled with dumb gags, Reynolds charm makes it work very well on the big screen, it is a kind of movie that really should be seen in the cinema to capture the magic in both audio and visuals. Now it is going to be interesting to see where Reynolds plans to take the character from here. Just remember to stay tuned for the five credits scenes.

Score: 9/10
