I have been searching high and low for recipes that I can make, with my oh so not professionally trained skill set, and that my toddler may like. I have a short list of meals I prepare on a rotation and frankly both of our taste buds have had enough. Dinner time has become mundane and boring in our house. So here I am spicing things up. I found a basic recipe and with a few tweaks I am obsessed with the final product! This is the yummiest Broccoli Beef I have ever had and I am proud to say I made it all by myself! If you want to impress in the kitchen try this quick and delicious Broccoli Beef.
1 lb Round steak for stir fry (I bought mine precut)
4 cups Broccoli florets (two heads)
1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1 tbsp Crushed Red Pepper
2 tbsp Brown Sugar
3 tbsp Corn Starch
5/8 cup Water
1/3 cup Lite Soy Sauce
Rice, hot cooked
In a small mixing bowl, combine 2 tablespoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons water and garlic powder and mix until smooth.
Add sliced beef and toss to coat evenly.
In a large skillet over medium high heat, stir-fry beef in 1 tablespoon oil until beef is cooked to your liking; remove from heat and set aside.
Stir-fry broccoli and onion flakes in remaining oil for 5 minutes.
Return beef to pan.
Combine soy sauce, brown sugar, ginger, onion powder and remaining cornstarch and water, mix until smooth; add to the pan.
Cook and stir for 2 minutes.
Serve over cooked rice.
