What started off as a screening of Jurassic Park in someone’s back garden has now turned into one of London’s most popular alternative cinema experiences. With overall cinema attendance falling over recent years, companies like Backyard Cinema are providing a refreshing experience for film goers to enjoy. Since its humble beginnings, Backyard Cinema have screened Rome + Juliet and zombie Apocalypses among others. Now, the team’s current theme is Lost World while the next one will be Winter Night Garden.

Here is what Backyard Cinema say about themselves

“Roaming pop-up cinema which bring people together to watch amazing films in iconic locations while enjoying great food and drink. We often theme seasons such as our Zombie Apocalypse horror season, Blues Brothers & Great Gatsby theme. Lots of surprises, excitement and above all a great place to watch a movie with your friends.”

Lost World

In their own words – “Step into an exciting new world and experience cinema like you have never seen it before. Depp in the Lost World you will find beanbags, cocktails and popcorn alongside tropical plants & trees, sound effects and special surprises that will change the way you watch cinema forever”
