Have you ever woken up in the morning looking forward to a great day, but it doesn’t turn out the way you had hoped?  Well, millions of people around the world are normally enthusiastic about their days only that they end up having the days they didn’t intend to have. Very many things may be responsible for the nature of the day you will have. However, the secret to having a great day is to start your morning in the right way. If you have a crappy morning, then it is likely that the rest of your day will also be crappy. This is why it is imperative that you be very careful and be very cautious about what you do and what you say the moment you wake up in the morning. Here are a few tips to increase your chances of having a great day.

Develop an attitude of gratitude

When you wake up every morning, learn to be grateful for the new day that you have been given. It is a fact that very many people around the world couldn’t manage to see the day, but you were fortunate enough to go to bed, and wake up to a brand new day.  This should give you the positivity you need to start the day. Just wake up, and before you get out of the bed, say “Thank You”. It will go a long way in helping you have a great day.

Start the day with gentle yoga and meditation

Upon waking up, it is important to prime your body for the day that is coming ahead. The best way to start this is by doing some breathing exercises to clear up your mind and to get the blood flowing to the rest of your body. It is also a good idea to do some gentle yoga to help you stretch so that you may get into the physical mood to start the day off on a bright note. Additionally, meditation is also recommended so that you focus your mind on the tasks ahead of the day and you also clear your mind of any negativity that you may pick up that morning. It may sound difficult, but dedicating about 20 minutes every day should be sufficient to get all this done.

Have a good breakfast

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and if you want to have a very good day, this is one meal you must never miss. It is sad to observe that millions around the world don’t like taking breakfast in the morning. They blame it on lack of time to prepare the breakfast or because they have to rush to work early that morning. However, this is the worst way to start off your day. With a good breakfast, you will have the energy you need to carry you throughout the day. Don’t be like the minions who prefer to take heavy dinners and light breakfast or miss on breakfast completely. Remember, you need energy and the energy will come from the very first meal you have in the morning which is breakfast.

Review your schedule for the day

If you want to have a good day, you must learn how to take control of the day in the morning before you step out of the house. Don’t be the person who walks out of the house and hopes that the day will turn out the way they want it to be. A good tip would be to review the day and know everything you will be doing for the day right from the moment you wake up. As such, you must have a to-do list or at least an idea of the activities you have lined up for the day and the specific times that you will do them. This will give you the clarity and the focus to stay on course and not to divert to things that may waste your time or make you feel that you did not accomplish what you set out to do for the day. This is a simple habit that is very effective not just in having a good day but also improving your productivity.

Put on clothes that make you feel good

Whether it is work uniform or the normal clothes you normally wear while going for work or school, you must ensure that they’re comfortable and that you are happy about them. This is vital in elevating your moods in the morning. The feeling that you’re looking nice and great will add positivity to your attitude and as such, you will not be distracted by negative things that may suck out the energy from your body. Therefore, invest in very decent clothing and clothes that you know will make you look good and attractive while you’re out there. If you don’t go to work, or you don’t go to school, it is still imperative that you dress well even when you are within the house. Be comfortable in your attire and let it bring out the best in you.

Sleep well

Before you wake up in the morning to start a new day, you will have to sleep. If the quality of your sleep is not good, then you will not have a good day. This is simply because you’ll be tired and sleepy during the day. One improvement towards having a good day is to invest in your bedroom. You don’t want to wake up in the morning feeling tired and drained because of that old mattress that is making your back hurt.
