Visit one of Santorini’s amazing wineries for a unique wine tasting experience overlooking the Caldera
One of our favourites is the Venetsanos winery built in 1947 by the Venetsanos family from Megalachori. It was the first industrial winery on the island. Perched upon the edge of the Caldera overlooking the rocky Aegean coastline, the winery remains a family run operation to date and its unique structural design constructed from above moving downwards simply adds to its charm. Take a guided tour then indulge in a gorgeous selection of wines with well paired meats and cheeses as you take in the romantic panorama. Round off your visit with a trip to the gift shop to purchase your favourite wine from the tasting.
Hike from Fira to Oia
This hike will be worth the early start as the trail leads you from Fira directly to Oia with spectacular views along the caldera cliff and through the villages of Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia. The hiking trail is well marked and suitable for anyone of average fitness. It can also be done in reverse.
