Finally, Apple is delivering the iPad it has always promised in the form over the 10.5-inch iPad Pro.
In 2010, iPad was the pioneer mobile computing device aiming to alter desktop and laptop computers in the future. Years later, it would suffer a major loss in terms of design and specification updates as other brands carved their own place in the tablet market.
In 2012, Microsoft introduced a tablet computer hybrid device that would be iPad’s biggest rival – the Surface Pro lineup. In the earlier years of their competition, Apple’s bet and Microsoft pet project would clash head on. However, the Surface Pro would win over more student and professionals who are in dire need for Windows 10, a full desktop OS.
Unforgettable 2016 upset
In the advent of 2016, iPad would be suffering a major blow dropping sales and eventually lose its relevance to consumers. To cover up the loss, Apple CEO Tim Cook launches the 9.7-inch iPad Pro during Spring 2016 claiming that it has the capabilities to replace the laptop, a passive attack at Surface Pro.
The said iPad Pro tier was able to remarkably impress tech critics and even scored high in various reviews. However, consumers’ feedback in terms of sale is upsetting. Some are even more disappointed that the tablet was not able to meet what Cook promised. The sales continued to drop throughout the year.
Later on, a rumor that Apple is planning to discontinue the iPad Pro lineup erupted. The tech giant has never addressed the issue until WWDC 2017.
iPad Pro resurrection at WWDC 2017
What seemed to be the end of an era for iPad Pro has become its rebirth. When it was first reported that Apple is planning for a major upgrade for its tablet devices, fans went crazy and took to Twitter their unfathomable excitement.
When the iPad Pro 2017 bandwagon took center stage at WWDC 2017, it did not disappoint, Forbes reported. It made a bold statement shutting down the border line that separates tablets from computers. The new breed of iPad Pro is the fulfillment of what Apple has always promised.
iOS 11 revolution kicks off
To be fair, Microsoft Surface Pro remains as promising as it has always been. But iPad Pro 2017 is phenomenal setting the bars higher and reclaiming its former glory as the standard model for tablet devices.
According to TIME, the iPad promise will be more relevant when iOS 11 arrives this fall. The new mobile operating system will bring the MacOS file format to the iPad Pro lineup. This makes Apple tablet the go-to tool for bloggers that will surely impact the lucrative travel industry of today.
